Job summary

Mercy Hospital is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to assist the Physical Therapist in delivering physical therapy and related tasks. The incumbent will perform delegated procedures, document patient progress, and adjust treatments within the plan of care.

She/he will supervise the PT aide, coordinate workload, and address age-specific patient needs with compassion and safety. Licensure in the state of practice is required or a temporary permit where applicable; an Associate's degree is

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required.
• Licensed in the state of practice or holding a state-authorized temporary permit/license.
• Health Care Provider Basic Life Support Certification is required.
• Entry-level acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in providing physical therapy.
• Perform procedures delegated by supervising Physical Therapist and modify treatments as patient status changes.
• Document patient progress notes accurately.
• Provide technical assistance and direction to the Physical Therapy aide and coordinate workload.
• Address age-specific needs of all patients with respect and dignity.
• Identify and report patient safety issues per policy.
