Full-Time Psychotherapist at Community Counseling & Mediation

Community Counseling and Mediation (CCM) is dedicated to improving the lives of at-risk children and families through innovative behavioral health, supportive housing, education, and youth services. Our six NYS-licensed mental health clinics, located in Brooklyn and Midtown Manhattan, provide culturally sensitive and comprehensive care to diverse communities.

Position Overview:

We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic psychotherapists to join our newly opening Bond Street Clinic in Downtown Brooklyn. This full-time position primarily serves children (ages 10+), adolescents, families, and young adults. The role requires flexibility, including some evening hours until 7 PM, with Saturday availability strongly preferred.

At CCM, we prioritize professional growth and support by offering clinical supervision and opportunities to accrue clinical hours toward licensing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnoses using culturally sensitive, evidence-based approaches
• Provide individual, group, and family counseling to address mental health, substance abuse, and related challenges
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, utilizing appropriate therapeutic modalities
• Deliver psychoeducation to clients and families on conditions, coping strategies, and self-care techniques
• Offer crisis intervention and support during acute psychiatric emergencies.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, counselors, social workers, and other team members to ensure coordinated, holistic care
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with CCM and OMH guidelines
• Participate in supervision, case conferences, and team meetings to support professional development and quality care
• Adhere to ethical standards, ensuring confidentiality and respecting client autonomy
• Connect clients with community resources and facilitate referrals as appropriate

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Social Work
• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Social Worker in New York State (LCSW or LMSW). Licensed clinicians preferred
• Experience providing mental health counseling, preferably in an outpatient setting
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities for mental health and substance use treatment
• Proficient in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with diverse populations
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Competent in maintaining timely and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to work on-site at one or multiple mental health clinics
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
