Job summary

Play-Well TEKnologies is seeking a dynamic full-time Operations Manager to oversee our LEGO-based STEM programs across the Raleigh area. You will maintain client relationships, coordinate programs, mentor staff, and lead outreach with schools and community partners.

This role involves travel, teaching some sessions, and lifting materials while ensuring high-quality service and program execution. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, and a 40-hour work week is typical.

  • Manage daily operations for Play-Well programs in the region.

  • Coordinate marketing, recruitment and program quality activities.
  • Train and mentor staff to deliver engaging LEGO-based STEM sessions.
  • Travel regularly to classes and events; lift materials as needed.

Would you like to mentor excited instructors on how to use a ridiculous amount of LEGO materials to help teach kids how the world works? If so, then this may be your dream job!Play-Well TEKnologies (http://www.play-well.org) is an educational enrichment company that introduces children in grades K-8 to STEM concepts using LEGO components.We are seeking a dynamic, motivated person to manage our awesome operations throughout the area. This is a full-time salaried manager position.This area is well established for our programs throughout the region, with many longstanding clients and strong partners throughout the community. We need someone who can perform in a fast paced environment and has the flexibility to meet challenges head on. The top priority is maintaining our good relationships with current clients which include many public and independent schools, recreation centers and more, as well as continually assessing competition in the area and providing superior programs. This includes networking with parent communities, doing grassroots on-the-ground marketing and recruiting, running consistently quality programs, and finding unserved pockets or new ways to better meet the high expectations of the sites and parents who we serve.Buckle up - this is hard work! Some hours will include teaching in the area.Able to establish and maintain healthy relationships through communication with Play-Well management, facility directors, parents, guardians and students.Able to quickly and tactfully respond to questions/concerns from parents, classroom instructors and clients.Able to instill calm during high energy classroom situations.Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.Professional, proficient email and cell phone communication.Proficient in using Google docs, Word Processing applications (using Pages or Word), and Spreadsheets (using Excel or Numbers), cloud computing.Data entry and database management with extreme attention to detail.Ability to learn and comprehend all internal systems.Has a valid Driver License and current car insurance. Owns reliable vehicle to transport Play-Well teaching kit which includes 8 60-quart bins of materials, and willing to drive required distances to organize, promote, teach classes, evaluate staff and/or meet with clients.Travel regularly to classes throughout the area.Lifting up to 50 lbs to store and stock materials; bending, stooping and crawling with children during class instruction.Must be living in the area postedMust pass background and other requirements as neededEducation / ExperiencePassion for managing people, LEGO, and inspiring kidsEducational backgrounds vary. Bachelor's degree preferredSuccessful history working with children in a classroom, summer camp or enrichment capacityWork history varies; proficient in classroom instruction, management, training, employee relations, public relations, business and marketing preferredDemonstrated experience working successfully from a home office
