Job summary

Wellness Avenue Surgery Center is seeking a RN to fill a Full Time PreOp/PACU position. The successful candidate will provide continuous, high-quality nursing care for patients recovering from anesthesia and sedation, ensuring safety, comfort and privacy.

The role requires an active Florida RN license, BLS/ACLS (PALS if required), and 2 years in PACU or critical care. The nurse may assist physicians in procedure rooms and contribute to discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have a current unrestricted RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the patient and family in preparation for discharge.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks including conscious sedation and sterile techniques.

The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times.
