Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree or two years of college coursework acceptable.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate required.
• Ability to assist in reading, writing, and math instruction.
• Ability to work well with children and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students under the direction of a certified teacher, individually or in small groups.
• Assist in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with administration and scoring of tests and assignments.
• Maintain a neat and orderly classroom and assist with equipment care.
• Keep accurate records and help substitute teachers as needed.
• Supervise students during the day, including lunch, bus, and recess.
• Participate in staff development and faculty activities as assigned.
