Children’s Friend in Providence, RI, is hiring a Pre-K Teacher Assistant for a full-time role (Mon-Fri, 7:30am-4:00pm). The position involves supporting teachers in planning bilingual-friendly, inclusive classrooms and documenting child progress.

The TA levels offer starting pay from $16.00/hr to $16.50/hr, with growth based on CDA/degree credentials. Benefits include health coverage and professional development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CDA credential required.
• Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education required.
• RI ELD Standards certificate OR plan to achieve within 12 months of employment.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to organize and plan activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum.
• Support children’s learning and development through active engagement and guidance.
• Conduct daily health observations and maintain accurate child progress documentation.
• Help create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for children and families.
• Attend parent-teacher conferences and home visits, supporting family engagement.
• Participate in professional development, team meetings, and coaching sessions.
• Support integration of services across home, classroom, and community settings.
