Children’s Friend in Pawtucket, RI is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support a preschool classroom and assist the lead teacher with curriculum and daily activities. You will monitor health, document progress, and help create a safe, inclusive space for children and families.

The role is full-time with varied shifts, offering professional development and a comprehensive benefits package. TA I requires a high school diploma, TA II CDA, or TA III an associate’s degree, with 1–3 years of experience

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience with children or at-risk families preferred.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and email.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and meet safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher in planning and implementing curriculum.
• Support children’s learning through active engagement and guidance.
• Conduct daily health observations and document child progress.
• Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for children and families.
• Attend parent-teacher conferences and home visits to support family engagement.
• Participate in professional development, team meetings, and coaching.
• Support integration of services across home, classroom, and community.
