Job summary

Encore Village in Schaumburg, IL is hiring a full-time Porter to keep resident areas clean, sanitary, and comfortable. You will operate cleaning equipment, remove trash, and maintain public and resident spaces, including restrooms and recreation areas.

You will handle cleaning chemicals per OSHA and EPA standards, read MSDS, follow bloodborne pathogens procedures, and work with residents in a courteous, timely manner while following schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping, maintenance or grounds preferred.
• Previous experience in senior living or long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools.
• Remove trash and transport to disposal area.
• Maintain sanitary and infection-free facility.
• Work in residential, common areas, restrooms, pool and recreation areas.
• Handle cleaning chemicals per OSHA, EPA, and State Health Department; read MSDS.
• Follow procedures for cleaning blood and body fluids per OSHA bloodborne pathogens standards.
• Maintain daily and project schedules; notify manager of changes.
• Assist with leaks or spills.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and tasks.
• Interact appropriately with residents and work in a timely, efficient manner.
