Experience in healthcare settings and knowledge of infection prevention will help protect participants, staff, and visitors. The role involves cleaning/restocking, handling cleaning products and PPE, and promptly addressing spills while following safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare environmental services (EVS), hospitals, medical offices, nursing homes, assisted living communities, or senior centers preferred.
• Knowledge of infection prevention, sanitation procedures, chemical safety, and proper waste disposal.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, offices, hallways, lobbies, waiting areas, and common spaces.
• Disinfect high-touch surfaces using approved healthcare products and procedures.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors and surfaces to maintain cleanliness.
• Empty trash and biohazard waste containers and replace liners.
• Restock restroom, hand hygiene, and cleaning supplies.
• Clean windows, glass doors, elevators, and entryways.
• Respond to spills and environmental service needs promptly.
• Follow OSHA, CDC, and facility infection control policies while using PPE and cleaning chemicals safely.
• Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and supply shortages to supervisors.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and ensure it is properly sanitized after use.
• Deliver courteous, respectful service to participants, visitors, and staff.

Experienced in healthcare and senior care settings, the Day Porter follows infection prevention protocols and sanitation standards to help protect the health and safety of participants, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize, restrooms, offices, hallways, lobbies, waiting areas, and common spaces.
• Perform routine disinfecting of high-touch surfaces using approved healthcare cleaning products and procedures.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors and surfaces to maintain a clean and professional appearance.
• Empty trash and biohazard waste containers according to safety guidelines and replace liners.
• Restock restroom, hand hygiene, and cleaning supplies.
• Clean windows, glass doors, elevators, and entryways.
• Respond promptly to spills and other environmental service needs.
• Follow OSHA, CDC, and facility infection control policies while using personal protective equipment (PPE) and handling cleaning chemicals safely.
