Job summary

Digs Dog Care Lake Forest, Illinois, is seeking a Kennel Tech to care for dogs, cats, and small exotics. This full-time hourly role includes indoor and outdoor duties such as feeding, cleaning, enrichment, and safe handling under supervision.

You will work with a team of animal care professionals, learn best practices in professional pet care, medication administration, and food preparation, ensuring welfare and comfort for every pet in our Lake Forest location.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of professional pet care experience.
• Ability to follow detailed feeding and medication notes.
• Comfort handling dogs of all sizes; able to lift and be on feet.
• Strong English communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for dogs, cats, and small exotics.
• Supervise outdoor play sessions and walks.
• Prepare meals according to feeding instructions and special diets.
• Administer oral and topical medications as directed.
• Clean and sanitize kennels, play yards, litter boxes, feeding areas, and common spaces.
• Observe animals for signs of stress, illness, injury, or behavioral changes.
• Assist with intake and departure procedures and settling new animals.
• Learn and apply new animal care techniques and safety procedures.
• Uphold all safety and welfare standards.
