Job summary

Food Lion in Sterling, VA is seeking a team member for the Perishable Department to provide quality customer service and maintain department standards. You will focus on fast, friendly, and accurate service, while supporting inventory, ordering and product handling across meat, dairy, and frozen sections.

Responsibilities include assisting customers, rotating stock, and adhering to Food Lion policies and safety guidelines. Must meet physical requirements and wear uniform when on duty.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with primary emphasis on fast, friendly, and accurate customer service to create a positive shopping experience.
• Courteous and helpful to other associates.
• Respect and use company tools such as ACIS and CAO for inventory and ordering.
• Receive deliveries, code where applicable, rotate and store properly.
• Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning and displaying of merchandise follows policies.
• Maintain proper product levels in the Perishable Department including meat, lunchmeat, frozen, dairy, ice cream.
