Job summary

Ignitus Recovery is seeking a Peer Recovery Coach at AIM Health in Boulder to support individuals through treatment using lived recovery experience. You will mentor, advocate, and model recovery, collaborating with clinical staff to engage clients and strengthen recovery capital.

This full-time, on-site role offers $20–$26 per hour, 8-hour shifts, and W-2 status. You will document in the EHR and participate in care planning to promote recovery-oriented care.

Qualifications

• Self-identifies as a person with lived recovery experience and willing to share that experience appropriately in a professional setting.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Colorado peer recovery certification (COPA/CPFS or similar) or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Basic understanding of addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions.
• Ability to de-escalate crises and follow safety protocols.
• Strong documentation skills and ability to chart in EHR.

Responsibilities

• Use lived experience of recovery to build rapport and authentic peer relationships with clients.
• Provide one-on-one mentoring and coaching to support recovery goals.
• Facilitate recovery-focused groups, meetings, and skill-building sessions.
• Offer peer support through all treatment phases, including admission and discharge planning.
• Support clients in navigating cravings, triggers, and high-risk situations.
• Provide crisis de-escalation and emotional support per safety protocols.
• Model healthy coping, boundaries, and recovery-oriented daily living.
• Collaborate with clinical, medical, and support staff for coordinated care.
• Help clients access community-based recovery resources and supports.
• Assist clients in building a strong community recovery network and natural supports.
• Document all services and maintain confidential records in the EHR.
• Participate in team meetings and care coordination discussions.
• Provide education on recovery principles and stigma reduction.
