You’ll operate mowers and tractors, assist irrigation, apply fertilizers, and help with city events. Requires HS diploma, 18+, Utah driver license, and ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid Utah Class D Driver License.
• Able to obtain Utah Pesticide Applicators License within six months.
• Experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance preferred.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing physical labor.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning, maintenance, and repairs to park facilities.
• Operate mowers, trimmers, tractors, and snow removal equipment.
• Mow, edge, fertilize, trim, prune, and pick up litter.
• Prepare and maintain sports fields for events.
• Assist irrigation system installation and maintenance.
• Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides safely.
• Support city events by setting up outdoor spaces.
• Participate in on-call and standby rotations for snowstorms and emergencies.

The City of South Jordan is looking for a Full-Time Parks Maintenance Worker to join our Parks Department. What You'll Do:

• Perform general cleaning, maintenance, and repairs to restrooms, pavilions, playgrounds, ball fields, and other park facilities.
• Operate a variety of equipment including mowers, trimmers, tractors, and snow removal machinery.
• Maintain lawns and landscaped areas by mowing, edging, fertilizing, trimming, pruning, and removing litter.
• Prepare and maintain sports fields for events, including baseball, softball, soccer, and football.
• Assist with irrigation system installation, repair, and seasonal maintenance.
• Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides safely and effectively.
• Support City events and activities by setting up and maintaining outdoor spaces.
• Participate in on‑call and stand‑by rotations for snowstorms, emergencies, and other events.

Who You Are:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Possess a valid Utah Class D Driver License.
• Able to obtain a Utah Pesticide Applicators License (Turf & Ornamental) within six months of hire.
• Experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, or a related field preferred.
• Capable of performing physical labor in various weather conditions and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working with tools, machinery, and maintenance chemicals.
• Able to communicate effectively and work well in a team environment.
