Job summary

First Student, Inc. is hiring a full-time Paratransit Van Driver in Kalamazoo, MI. You will safely transport community members to appointments and errands, assist with boarding and mobility aids, and conduct vehicle inspections to ensure safety and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have chauffeur license.
• Have a valid driver’s license for at least 3 years.
• Enjoy helping people in the community.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport community members to and from appointments, errands and activities.
• Assist passengers entering and exiting the vehicle and with mobility aids.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections (brakes, lights, tires, emergency exits).
• Report mechanical issues promptly and keep the vehicle clean and sanitary.
• Adhere to traffic laws and company safety standards.
• Communicate with passengers, staff, and dispatch about behavior or delays.
