Job summary

Astera Health is seeking a Full Time Paramedic to join our team. This .9 FTE role features 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, with a comprehensive benefits package and wellness initiatives.

The Paramedic will perform scene and transport care, IV therapy, and ALS procedures under physician orders, while maintaining run reports and safety protocols. Qualified candidates are EMT-Paramedic certified with Minnesota/National licensure, and hold BLS, ACLS, PALS, CALS, NRP

Qualifications

• Completed an EMT-Paramedic program and maintain active Minnesota and National EMT-Paramedic licensure.
• Maintain active Minnesota Driver’s License and current BLS/ACLS/PALS/CALS/NRP certifications.
• Demonstrates proficiency with standard medical equipment and electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care on the scene and during transport to the hospital.
• Responds to incident scenes, conducts primary assessment and vital signs.
• Initiates emergency medical care per protocols and physician orders.
• Performs IV therapy and venipuncture as directed.
• Assists with ALS/ACLS in cardiac arrest when indicated.
• Maintains accurate run reports and vehicle/equipment checks.
