Job summary

Zen Educate is hiring a Para Educator in North Highlands, CA for the 2025-2026 school year. You will work with K-12 students with special needs, supporting one‑on‑one or small groups, and assist with IEPs to reinforce lessons and classroom goals.

The role requires a high school diploma, English proficiency, and US work authorization. Pay is $22-$26 per hour with weekly pay, Monday–Friday schedules, and benefits including sick leave and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent.
• Experience working with children with special educational needs.
• Experience working with personal care.
• Passion for working within special education.
• U.S. work authorization (no visa sponsorship).
• Applicants must be professionally proficient in English.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the classroom teacher to maintain a safe learning environment
• Providing one‑on‑one or small‑group assistance to students with special needs, reinforcing lessons and implementing IEPs to achieve goals
• Assisting in compiling classroom communications, including supporting with differentiation for different children’s needs
• Assisting with classroom management, redirecting behavior, and implementing behavior management plans
• Facilitating interactions between students with disabilities and their peers, teaching and modeling strategies for positive interaction
• Using a variety of learning methods to enhance student learning experiences and support them as needed
• Supporting with personal care or hygiene as needed, including toileting, feeding, and dressing
