Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program required.
• One year of experience as a Physician Assistant preferred (Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or other acute-care experience preferred).
• Current Maryland physician assistant license required; DEA registration required; BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications per Meritus Health policy.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for acute illnesses and injuries.
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing.
• Prescribe medications and provide patient education.
• Perform minor office-based procedures including suturing, laceration repair, I&D, and fracture care.
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nurses, and clinical staff to deliver care.
• Document encounters accurately in the EHR and communicate with patients and families.
