Job summary

Newaygo County Mental Health is seeking a compassionate Outpatient Therapist to provide adult and child psychotherapy in an office-based setting. The role emphasizes trauma-informed care and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care.

Qualifications include a Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling and Michigan licensure (LLPC/LPC/LLMSW/LMSW/LLP). Preference for CAADC or Development Plan candidate, plus experience with youth and co-occurring disorders.

Outpatient Therapist

Newaygo County Mental Health is seeking a compassionate and dedicated FULL-Time Outpatient Therapist to provide high-quality mental health services to adults and children. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families in our community.

Position Summary

The Outpatient Therapist will provide assessment and psychotherapy services in an office-based setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals affected by trauma, mental health conditions, and co-occurring substance use disorders. Experience working with youth and familiarity with Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) for Substance Use Disorder are preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and family assessments and therapy sessions.
  • Develop and implement person-centered treatment plans.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices and therapeutic interventions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.
  • Support clients in identifying barriers and developing strategies for success.
  • Use de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques when appropriate.
Qualifications
  • Education: Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling (MSW, MA) required.
  • Licensure: LLPC, LPC, LLMSW, LMSW, or LLP with appropriate State of Michigan licensure.

  • Other Requirements: Valid Michigan driver’s license.
Pay and Benefits
  • Salary: $62,145–$77,182 based on licensure & experience
