Job summary

Emerald Healthcare in Omaha, NE is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to assess, plan, and implement individualized therapy programs focused on improving residents’ independence in daily activities.

You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other therapists to provide comprehensive care, maintain thorough documentation, and educate residents and families on rehabilitation strategies. This role emphasizes quality of life and functional outcomes within a supportive rehab team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• Experience in a skilled nursing facility or similar setting preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and implement individualized therapy programs to improve patients' independence in daily activities.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care tailored to each resident.
• Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on rehabilitation techniques and home exercise strategies.
• Develop and refine therapy programs and protocols to enhance service delivery and outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with facility policies and state/federal regulations and stay current with best practices.
• Stay engaged in professional development and continuing education to advance therapy approaches.
