Job summary

VitalCore Health Strategies seeks a Site Psychiatrist to provide diagnostic evaluation and treatment to inmates at Woodland Center Correctional Facility in Whitmore Lake, Michigan. The role includes clinical direction, supervision of staff, and development of discharge plans to ensure follow-up care after release.

Requirements include medical degree, completion of a psychiatric residency, active Michigan license, and a current DEA number.

Qualifications

Medical degree from an accredited school and completed psychiatric residency.
Licensed to practice psychiatry in Michigan.
Current DEA number.

Responsibilities

Provide onsite psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for inmates referred by medical staff.
Prepare written summaries of history, diagnosis, and treatment course.
Manage medications and provide individual and/or group therapy as appropriate.
Contribute to treatment planning, discharge planning, and continuity of care.
Attend trainings and meetings and provide in-service education to site staff.
