Job summary

VitalCore Health Strategies seeks a Site Psychiatrist in Jackson, Michigan, to provide diagnostic evaluation and treatment for inmates, supervise site staff, and oversee discharge planning. The physician will deliver clinical direction and ensure adherence to treatment plans within the facility.

Requirements include medical degree, psychiatric residency completion, Michigan license, and current DEA number. The role is full-time and involves coordination with Behavioral Health services and staff.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of medical school and have completed an appropriate psychiatric residency.
• Must be licensed to practice in the state of Michigan.
• Current DEA number.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of inmates referred by medical and clinical staff.
• Provide written summaries of history, diagnosis and treatment course.
• Offer psychiatric services for inpatients and for inmates in the Behavioral Health Unit as needed.
• Participate in treatment planning, staffing and monitoring of medication.
• Manage admissions and discharges to the Behavioral Health Unit and provide training as required.
