Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist, you will engage in a variety of essential tasks, including:

• Directing physical therapy treatments aimed at preventing disability and relieving pain, while enhancing muscle function and maintaining optimal performance as outlined in individualized care plans.
• Supervising Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure that treatment plans are implemented effectively.
• Conducting thorough evaluations of clients' physical functioning through diagnostic tests to identify specific needs and tailor therapies accordingly.
• Assessing clients' home environments to make recommendations that promote their independence in daily activities.
• Delivering prescribed physical therapy services in the home setting, including manual therapeutic exercises and non-manual activities, leveraging your knowledge to instruct and motivate clients.
• Administering diverse therapeutic treatments, such as traction and massage, to enhance rehabilitation outcomes.
• Evaluating, fitting, and making adjustments to prosthetic and orthotic devices while collaborating with physicians on necessary modifications.
• Maintaining comprehensive clinical records, including initial evaluations and progress notes, and submitting them for incorporation into the client's clinical record.
• Participating in interdisciplinary case conferences to coordinate and evaluate the total treatment provided to each client.
• Offering guidance and education to clients and families regarding physical therapy techniques and resources to ensure continuity of care.

Your expertise will directly impact a varied client demographic, including individuals recovering from surgeries, those with chronic illnesses, and patients undergoing rehabilitation for sports-related injuries. Clients may require different levels of therapy, ranging from intensive rehabilitation post-surgery to restorative exercises and pain management strategies in their homes. Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

• A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited physical therapy program.
• A valid Physical Therapy license in good standing within the state of New York.
• Current CPR certification.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance.

Preferred Experience
