Under general supervision, plans and conducts service or nutritional programs to assist in the promotion of health and control of disease. Provides nutritional assessment, education and counseling to individuals, groups, or the public. Serves as a resource on nutrition and dietetics to nurses, health educators or other health care providers in the facility.
All District 4 Public Health, County BOH employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event not limited to but including, staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Dispensing site (POD). When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.
Nutritionist 1- (Annual Salary - $44,523.60)
Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, human nutrition, foods, and nutrition, nutrition education, food systems management, or a closely related field from an accredited college or universityAND verification statement of completion of a didactic program accredited by The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Nutritionist 2- (Annual Salary - $48,975.96)
Bachelor's degree in dietetics, human nutrition, foods and nutrition, nutrition education, food systems management or a closely related field from an accredited college or university, verification statement of completion of a didactic program accredited by The Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics AND two years at the lower-level Dietitian/Nutritionist 1 (HCP020) or equivalent position (i.e., must have two years of experience as a nutritionist providing education to groups and individuals).
NOTE: According to Georgia Public Health WIC Program Guidelines, candidates without a verification statement, who can comply with the following requirements, may be eligible for consideration in this position:
*Bilingual-Spanish/English Language preferred-$1000 added to minimum hire in salary for those who qualify*
