Job summary

Rasmussen University is seeking a Master’s prepared nurse to serve as a full-time Nursing Instructor in Romeoville, IL. You will instruct students across modalities, guide learning, and evaluate performance to ensure program outcomes and NCLEX readiness.

Responsibilities include delivering courses, maintaining office hours, and participating in professional development and campus activities. Active IL RN license and 1+ year teaching experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license that has never been encumbered.
• A master’s degree in nursing is required.
• Medical-Surgical/Telemetry/ICU experience and at least 1 year teaching experience preferred.
• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• 3 years’ experience as a registered nurse.
• Self-motivated, flexible and able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with students, leadership, peers and community partners.
• Excellent written communication and strong verbal communication skills.
• Must provide professional licenses and certifications required for clinical teaching.
• Must adhere to faculty immunizations and provide documentation.
• Teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction in courses aligned with qualifications and expertise.
• Ensure all instructional activities and delivery responsibilities meet policy and accreditation standards.
• Maintain weekly office hours to support student learning and provide guidance.
• Demonstrate consistent instructional presence across modalities.
• Support student learning outcomes through curriculum implementation and assessment.
• Prepare students for NCLEX throughout the program.
• Full-time faculty should manage a full workload; part-time up to 30 hours/week.
• Participate in quarterly professional development weeks and campus meetings.
• Attend meetings designated by the Dean and participate in committees.
