Job summary

Northfield Retirement Communities in Scottsbluff, NE is seeking a dedicated housekeeper to maintain clean, safe resident areas under supervision of the Nursing Home Administrator. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 18+ years, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

You will perform cleaning procedures, assist with laundry, observe safety policies, and report resident changes to supervisors while keeping residents’ dignity and privacy.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
• Cannot have been convicted of any crime related to services to be provided under this job description.
• Must be able to speak and understand English or a language understood by residents.
• Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Possess personal qualities for good interpersonal relationships (respect, kindness, loyalty).
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work at any Northfield Retirement Communities facility as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning procedures in accordance with facility policy.
• Observe waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy.
• Assist in proper care and use of housekeeping equipment.
• Identify and report any equipment malfunction to supervisor.
• Dispense soap, paper and other housekeeping supplies.
• Assist with laundry.
• Attend in-service training programs when required.
• Observe facility safety procedures and programs.
• Ensure a safe, clean environment for residents and co-workers; initiate corrective action.
• Provide for proper and safe care of patient clothing and valuables.
• Promptly report changes in resident condition to supervisor.
• Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
• Complete assignments timely and accurately.
• Listen to resident and family complaints and report problems to Supervisor.
• Cooperate with residents and staff.
• Wear neat uniform with nametag and gait belt; present professional appearance.
• Be punctual and dependable.
• Assume accountability for data contained in the employees\' handbook.
