Job summary

University of Kentucky is seeking a full-time Nursing Assistant/Mental Health Associate to support adult patients in a 28-bed unit at Wendell 2. You will assist licensed staff, take vital signs, help with activities of daily living, and document patient behavior.

CPR certification is preferred; no prior experience required. This role requires lifting, moderate physical work, and three 12.5-hour night shifts per week with some weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Healthcare experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed staff in delivering patient care to adults with psychiatric needs.
• Obtain vital signs, assist with activities of daily living, and document behavior.
• Plan and implement psychiatric rehabilitation activities and supervise patients during treatment.
• Escort patients to activities and support safety within the unit.
• Maintain records and follow hospital policies to ensure a safe environment.
