Job summary

Harlan County Health System in Alma, NE is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our night shift team. This full-time position provides high-quality nursing care in the inpatient and emergency department during overnight hours.

You will work three 12-hour shifts per week (5:45 p.m.–6:00 a.m.), with rotating weekends and holidays. Nebraska RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, and strong communication are required or obtained within the required timeframe.

Qualifications

• Nebraska RN license required or eligible.
• BLS/ACLS or equivalents within required timeframe.
• Strong communication and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and with others in a rural setting.
• Prior inpatient or ED nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop, implement, and evaluate care plans.

• Full-time position
• Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Night shift: 5:45 p.m.–6:00 a.m.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care in the inpatient and emergency department settings
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered
• Monitor and document patients’ conditions and responses to care
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and members of the healthcare team
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and changes in patient condition
• Follow established clinical, safety, and infection-control standards

What We’re Looking For

• Current Registered Nurse license in Nebraska or eligibility for Nebraska licensure
• BLS, ACLS and other applicable certifications preferred or obtained within the required timeframe
• Strong communication and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a rural healthcare environment
• Previous inpatient or emergency nursing experience preferred
