Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse 1 (T&RC) for the Medical Oncology unit on the night shift. The RN will assess patients, administer medications, and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Possession of or eligibility for a license to practice as a registered nurse in New York State.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred; at least one year of hospital acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient’s condition and nursing needs and coordinate care with the treatment team.
• Develop a written individualized care plan including discharge planning.
• Administer direct patient care and medications as ordered.
• Practice infection control and maintain a safe environment.
• Communicate changes in patient status to Charge RN/Clinician.
• Participate in unit or hospital quality assurance activities and nursing education.
