Qualifications

• Formal apprenticeship or in-company two-year training is required.
• Must be capable of passing a company weld test prior to employment.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, plans and blueprints.
• Solid basic math skills related to welding assignments.

Responsibilities

• Plan work order details and gather tools/materials specified.
• Repair and fabricate items using cutting and welding techniques.
• Monitor welding to prevent overheating, warping, or distortion.
• Prepare and tack weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
• Work with minimal supervision once trained.
• Maintain and organize equipment and work area.
• Notify supervisor of faulty equipment or materials.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
