Job summary

Strong Foundations Charter School is seeking a Paraprofessional to support teachers in delivering a safe and engaging learning environment for students in Pembroke, NH. You will work closely with individual students and small groups to reinforce lessons and reinforce positive behaviors.

The ideal candidate has strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills, with a focus on middle school learners. Typical hours are 8:00–3:00 on school days, and the school provides competitive compensation

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate degree or higher is preferred.
• Experience with middle school students is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of child development and instructional strategies for middle school is desired.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers and staff.
• Patience, empathy and a passion for working with young people.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in the classroom by providing support to individual students or small groups.
• Help implement lesson plans and educational activities under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
• Supervise students during lunch, recess, and field trips.
• Support students with special needs by adapting materials and providing additional assistance as required.
• Help maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to assess student progress and implement interventions.
• Communicate effectively with students and staff to support student learning and development.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in education.
• Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.
