Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment; take vital signs.
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with instruments and supplies.
• Administer injections and apply splints/dressings.
• Maintain supplies and equipment including sterilization.
• Log referrals and update patient records.
• Handle patient check-in/check-out and eligibility verification.
• Collect copays and balances; follow scheduling policies.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA.
