Job summary

Mountainlands Community Health Center Inc in Provo, Utah is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm with occasional Saturdays. Starting wage is $19.30+/hour with certification; salary commensurate with experience/education.

Responsibilities include pre-visit planning, rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, handling labs, and supporting providers during exams. Ideal candidates have MA certification, CPR, and ambulatory clinic experience; non-certified

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
  • Medical Assistant certification; externship hours preferred.
  • Non-certified applicants with CNA/EMT/phlebotomy or >1 year MA experience may be considered; compensation based on experience.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Immunizations proof will be requested on hire.
  • MA experience in ambulatory clinic preferred, newly certified MAs encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks with limited supervision.
  • Reliable transportation and occasional cross-site travel (<15 miles).
  • Basic computer skills; EMR documentation experience a plus.
  • Prepare charts and participate in huddles to identify needed screening/testing.
  • Greet and prepare patients for visit; document vital signs and health information.
  • Draw blood and process laboratory specimens.
  • Prepare and administer medications and vaccines as ordered.
  • Assist providers with procedures and chaperone during exams.
  • Retrieve lab/radiology reports; communicate with providers.
  • Maintain clean and restocked exam rooms.
  • Document all care in EMR (Athena).
  • Maintain equipment and sterilize instruments.

Job Title: Medical Assistant

Status: Full Time

Job Summary:

Job Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Medical Assistant certification with completion of externship hours preferred.
  • Non-certified applicants with equivalent education (CNA, EMT, phlebotomy, etc) or greater than 1 year of MA experience will be considered. (Salary commensurate with experience/education).
  • Current Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required
  • Proof of current immunizations will be requested upon hire

  • Reliable transportation. Limited travel to other sites for cross-coverage is possible (less than 15 miles).

  • Document all care and communication in the EMR (Athena).
  • Maintain equipment and sterilize instruments.
