Job summary

Carbon Health Technologies Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians by rooming patients, taking vital signs, documenting histories, and preparing patients for exams. This fast-paced role includes assisting with procedures and administrative tasks, with weekend shifts expected.

Responsibilities include triage, venipuncture, EKGs, lab tests, and front-desk duties while pursuing DOT certification for drug screens and breath tests. 1+ year MA experience and BLS are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program (except where law permits exemption with experience, diploma and/or national certification).
• Current BLS certification; willingness to obtain DOT certification.
• 1+ years experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and collect vitals; document medical histories and triage.
• Assist with procedures such as incisions and wound care.
• Administer medications by common routes and conduct related tests.
• Perform basic laboratory tests (urinalysis, pregnancy, glucose, rapid strep, flu, rapid HIV).
• Manage front desk duties and basic administrative tasks as needed.
• Complete training and become certified with DOT for Urine Drug Screens and Breath Alcohol Tests.

Job description

• A Medical Assistant (MA) supports clinicians by rooming patients, taking vital signs, documenting medical histories, preparing patients for exams, assisting with procedures, administering medications or injections as directed, managing patient communications, registration, insurance verification, and handling basic clinical and administrative tasks. This is a very fast past position that requires weekends.

What you'll do

• Perform patient care by taking vitals, patient history and triaging
• Assist with procedures such as incision and drainage, lacerations and wound care
• Administer medications via intradermal, intramuscular and subcutaneous routes, carry out ear lavages and run EKGs
• Conduct lab testing such as urinalysis, urine pregnancy test, blood glucose testing, monospot, rapid strep and influenza testing, rapid hiv testing
• Manage the front desk and perform receptionist duties as needed
• Complete training and become certified with the Department of Transportation to perform Urine Drug Screens and Breath Alcohol Tests

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program (except in those locations(s) permitted by law for exemption with experience, diploma and/or national certification)
• Current BLS certification, willingness to obtain DOT certification
• 1+ years experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
• Phlebotomy experience preferred
