Job Overview:

Cub Savage is seeking a dedicated Meat Manager to oversee our meat and seafood department. The role involves planning and managing department operations to promote sales, achieve profit margins, and ensure a positive shopping experience for customers and a safe working environment for staff.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Assist customers and ensure excellent service from all associates.
  2. Develop effective daily/weekly work plans based on sales projections and labor goals.
  3. Implement merchandising plans to maximize sales, variety, and gross profit.
  4. Supervise meat and seafood staff to optimize labor and meet department goals.
  5. Manage receiving, invoicing, pricing, shrink control, and inventory to meet profit targets.
  6. Perform meat & seafood cutting and preparation.
  7. Train and develop department personnel.
  8. Supervise safety and sanitation programs.
  9. Handle personnel functions within the department.
  10. Maintain store security and confidentiality standards.
  11. Adhere to store and department policies and procedures.
  12. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
  • Good judgment, especially when supervision is not immediately available.
  • Decision-making, social skills, and effective verbal interaction.
  • Basic reading, writing, math, and memorization skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • Lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Operating equipment such as meat slicers, scales, intercoms, and telephones.
  • Walking and standing for entire shifts.
Schedule:
  • Open availability, including evenings and weekends.
  • At least one evening shift from Friday to Sunday.
