Responsibilities include cutting, wrapping, maintaining cases, and assisting customers. The position requires physical stamina, familiarity with meat department equipment, and the ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience operating meat cutting equipment including slicer, grinder, tenderizer and patty machine.
• Ability to stand for long periods and walk extended distances.
• Good judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong math, reading and writing skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication.

Job description

Cub Freeport is looking for a dedicated individual to fill a Full Time Meat Cutter position. Meat Cutters are responsible for cutting, wrapping, preparation and stocking for the meat and seafood department, ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform meat and seafood cutting, wrapping, and preparation
• Maintain meat and seafood cases
• Clean and sanitize equipment, cases, work area and sales floor
• Assist customers with questions about product locations and suggestions
• Answer department phone calls and respond or refer as appropriate
• Assist in ordering and receiving meat and seafood shipments
• Perform other duties as assigned or delegated

Job Requirements

• Experience operating equipment such as meat slicer, scale, intercom, telephone, racks, calculator, forklift, meat grinder, cuber, bulker, meat mixer, patty machine, tenderizer, pressure washer, etc.
• Ability to walk long distances and stand for long periods of time
• Memorization, reading, writing and math skills
• Ability to provide prompt, courteous and accurate customer service
• Good judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions, write identifying information, and request supplies verbally or in writing
• Flexibility to work shifts varying in length and time, including nights, weekends and holidays
• Minimum age 18 years

Physical Requirements

• Operate equipment such as meat slicer, scale, intercom, telephone, racks, calculator, forklift, meat grinder, cuber, bulker, meat mixer, patty machine, tenderizer, pressure washer, etc.
• Lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs.
• Walking on uneven ground
• Reaching, bending, repetitive motions
• Exposure to cold temperatures and wet surfaces
