Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital is seeking a licensed Massage Therapist to promote health and well-being through expert soft tissue work. This full-time position runs 6:45am to 4:45pm with no weekend shifts, offering opportunities for advanced training and growth within the organization.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Massage Therapy program.
• Licensed in Massage Therapy (LMT) by the State of Ohio.
• One year of experience providing massage services or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Administer therapeutic massage and bodywork modalities, including deep tissue, Swedish, trigger point, stretching, pregnancy/post-partum massage, acupressure, reflexology and hydrotherapy.
• Interview patient to determine medical history, condition, desired results and appropriate modality.
• Apply selected modality, focusing on areas of discomfort.
• Monitor patient's responses to treatment and adjust, change or terminate treatment based on feedback.
• Document patient information, interview responses, treatments, feedback, and results.
• Maintain therapy areas in a clean, safe, sterile, and organizational state.
• Order supplies as necessary.

Education

High school graduate or equivalent

Graduate of an accredited Massage Therapy program

Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) by the State of Ohio

One year of experience providing massage services or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
