Job summary

Cleveland Clinic’s Kent Spine and Pain unit is hiring a Massage Therapist. You will administer therapeutic massage to patients, interview patients, and tailor modalities to conditions. Join a team with strong support and a patient-first culture.

This PRN position involves 8-hour shifts between 6:45 AM and 5:00 PM, no weekends. Must be a graduate of an accredited Massage Therapy program, licensed in Ohio, with BLS certification; minimum one year of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Massage Therapy program.
• Licensed in Massage Therapy (LMT) by the State of Ohio.
• One year of experience providing massage services or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Administer therapeutic massage and bodywork modalities, including deep tissue, Swedish, trigger point, stretching, pregnancy/post‑partum massage, acupressure, reflexology and hydrotherapy.
• Interview patient to determine medical history, condition, desired results and appropriate modality.
• Apply selected modality, focusing on areas of discomfort.
• Monitor patient’s responses to treatment and adjust, change or terminate treatment based on feedback.
• Document patient information, interview responses, treatments, feedback and results.
• Maintain therapy area in a clean, safe, sterile and organized state.
• Order supplies, as necessary.

Education

High school graduate or equivalent

Graduate of an accredited Massage Therapy program

Licensed in Massage Therapy (LMT) by the State of Ohio

One year of experience providing massage services or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross

• For Hospice staff only: Valid Ohio Driver’s License upon hire; per policy 8‑175 thereafter
• For Hospice staff only: Proof of automobile insurance coverage with $100,000/$300,000 upon hire; per policy 8‑175 thereafter

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in the health care field

Physical Requirements

• Requires full body motion to move and lift patients and equipment, lifting of items in excess of 30 pounds.
• Requires standing and walking for extended times.
• Ability to assist with positioning and transporting patients; e.g., carts and wheelchairs.
• Requires the ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment.

Personal Protective Equipment

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $28.50

Maximum hourly: $28.50
