Miller Poultry in Nappanee, IN is seeking a Maintenance Assistant/Janitor for a full-time, second-shift role. The position supports maintenance and janitorial tasks across our northeast Indiana/ southern Michigan operations, with a pay range of $21.00 to $22.00 per hour based on experience.

The role involves operating maintenance equipment, assisting in the control room, preventive maintenance, and ensuring a safe, clean facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle operation — Drive maintenance truck and operate forklift as needed.
• Control room support — Assist operators in monitoring and adjusting equipment.
• Machine operation — Help run production machines when required.
• Preventive maintenance — Grease machinery, check fluid levels, and perform basic upkeep.
• General maintenance — Support repairs, adjustments, and troubleshooting under supervision.
• Facility upkeep — Mow lawns, pull weeds, salt sidewalks, and handle seasonal grounds work.
• Janitorial tasks — Clean floors, restrooms, break areas, and maintain sanitation standards.
• Safety compliance — Follow lockout/tagout, PPE, and feed mill safety protocols.
• Adaptability — Flex between maintenance and janitorial functions depending on daily needs.
• Emergency response — Assist in spill cleanup, equipment shutdowns, or urgent facility issue
