Oak Lawn Park District is hiring for a Full-Time Maintenance Custodian to maintain and clean the Oak View Center. Schedule is 7:30-4:00pm, Monday through Friday. The role requires physical work, independent initiative, and reliable performance in a public facility with safety considerations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Order all maintenance supplies and equipment as necessary.
• Cleans and washes floors, walls and windows.
• Cleans restrooms and replenishes supplies.
• Empties waste and other trash.
• Responsible for securing all windows, doors and activating security system before closing building.
• Acts as watchman when necessary.
• Submits reports of work performed.
• Set up and take down of rental rooms.
• During a room rental, he/she is responsible for introducing themselves to the person in charge of the room rental in order to have a contact person to appeal to if there are problems with that particular room rental patrons.
• Report need for building or equipment repairs.
• Wash windows, chairs, counter tops, woodwork, carpet, walls.
• Perform special maintenance tasks/projects as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Full-Time Maintenance position is a full time IMRF eligible position. The position is responsible for maintaining and cleaning the inside and outside property of the Oak View Center. The work schedule for this position is 7:30-4:00pm Monday through Friday.

ABOUT US

The Oak Lawn Park District, incorporated in 1944, has a long and proud history of serving the recreational needs of our 56,000 residents with a myriad of recreational programs and services. We operate under the state tax cap as a municipal corporation, meaning we are our own taxing body. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Order all maintenance supplies and equipment as necessary.

• Must be able to work 40 hours per week

ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS

• Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in cold or hot temperatures

• May be exposed to hazardous materials such as paint fumes, cleaning fumes and chemicals all of which should be handle responsibly and with care
