Job summary

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all patrons using the aquatics facility by maintaining constant surveillance of the pool area, enforcing rules, and responding promptly to emergencies. The Lifeguard identifies potential accident hazards and responds quickly, completes incident, accident and rescue reports, and monitors all pool patrols to ensure a safe swimming environment and enforce facility rules and regulations. The Lifeguard also inspects and maintains lifesaving equipment, first aid supplies, rescue tubes, backboards, and other lifesaving equipment, attends all in-service training, administers first aid and/or CPR when necessary and performs all other duties assigned.

ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

The following certifications are required: American Red Cross Lifeguard, Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguard Instructor and CPR/AED. All licenses and certifications must be current or obtainable within six (6) months of employment. All certifications must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
