Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–1 year phlebotomist or Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtained by end of orientation period.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter training within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
• Assist lab technicians in loading and unloading specimens on analyzers.
• Clean, disinfect and maintain cleanrooms and equipment.
• Assist with receipt and inspection of raw materials.
• Store samples in storage racks when completed.
• Stock materials and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Draw and collect blood samples and swabs from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Communicate with patient regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by physician
