Job summary

The Salvation Army Springfield Harbor House Shelter in Springfield, Missouri is seeking a full-time cook to prepare and serve meals under the Head Cook, and to help with kitchen cleanup. This 40-hour-per-week role offers starting pay of $15.00 per hour and is based at 636 N Boonville Ave, Springfield, MO 65806.

Responsibilities include following health regulations, maintaining sanitation, stocking and operating kitchen equipment, and attending required training and meetings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and one year cooking experience.
• Must have a valid food handling certificate.
• Able to comply with recipes and safety handling instructions.
• Medically qualified to work in food service area.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food.
• Comply with all safety and health regulations/codes regarding food preparation and service including sanitation.
• Maintain cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas.
• Sanitize all cooking utensils and assist with lifting and moving materials.
• Operate kitchen equipment for food preparation and cleanup.
• Attend required state certification classes and lodge staff meetings.
