Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking a Full-Time Instructor (Nurse Aide / Program Coordinator) in the Health & Public Safety Technology department. This role is based at ATC's Main campus south of Downtown Atlanta and involves daily in-person classroom and clinical instruction, with adaptation to adult learning styles.

The instructor will organize and maintain the program, follow curriculum standards, advise students, assist with recruitment and job placement, and coordinate clinical sites

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • LPN with active Georgia Nursing License in good standing.
  • One year nursing experience.
  • Train-the-Trainer certificate within one month of hire.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree or higher; RN license in good standing.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, review, develop and assess the nursing program.
  • Deliver in-person instruction and clinical experiences.
  • Advise students academically and assist with recruitment and job placement.
  • Coordinate clinical sites, schedules, and credentialing.
  • Engage with advisory/consortium committees and state program reporting.

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Full-Time Instructor (Nurse Aide / Program Coordinator) position in the Health & Public Safety Technology department. This position is located at Atlanta Tech's Main campus just south of Downtown Atlanta. Under the general supervision of the Dean of Health & Safety Technology, the Full-Time Instructor (Nurse Aide / Program Coordinator) prepares and delivers quality curriculum with daily instruction of students in-person and in clinical settings. This position requires utilizing techniques that facilitate and adapt to adult learning styles.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the organization, continuous review, development and effectiveness of the program.
  • Use of appropriate teaching techniques.
  • Use of appropriate assessment, testing, grading and record-keeping procedures.
  • Follow approved curriculum standards and course syllabi.
  • Provide academic advice and counsel students.
  • Assist with student recruitment and job placement.
  • Serve as primary contact with the program’s clinical partners.
  • Coordinate clinical site updates, secure appropriate clinical placement space, and develop clinical schedules.
  • Ensure students meet all credentialing requirements and receive approval prior to beginning clinical experience.
  • Attend campus and department meetings as required.
  • Coordinate and participate in the program’s advisory committee meetings.
  • Participate in consortium committee meetings.
  • Assist in the development of reports and other requirements for the state program agency.
  • Follow rules and regulations as defined by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and other policies and procedures established by Atlanta Technical College.
  • Maintain qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and Georgia Medical Care Foundation standards; and Performs additional duties, as assigned.

Background screenings are conducted prior to screening.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse with a current active Georgia Nursing License in good standing with the Georgia Board of Nursing.
  • One (1) year of nursing experience.
  • Train-the-Trainer certificate from Alliant Health Solutions must be completed within one (1) month of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Registered Nurse with a current active Georgia Nursing License in good standing with the Georgia Board of Nursing.
  • Two (2) or more years of Nursing experience.
  • One (1) year of nursing experience as an LPN or RN must be in long-term care facility (nursing home).
  • Train-the-Trainer certificate from Alliant Health Solutions must be completed within one (1) month of hire.
  • May be required to teach at other locations and other locations within the community.
