Orleans Southwest is seeking compassionate Instructional Assistants to support students with academic and social-emotional tasks under IEP/504 guidance. Openings at Hardwick Elementary and Hazen Union Middle/High School.

Positions involve working with individuals or small groups both in and out of classrooms, on and off campus, per teacher directions. Must meet ESSA criteria, have 38 college credits or a degree, and pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Must meet criteria for support staff per ESSA (38 college credits or a degree)
• Background check must be passable
• Instructional Assistants under age 21 may be assigned only to grades 6 and below
• Reliable transportation required
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required

Responsibilities

• Assisting individual and small groups of students with academic/learning and/or vocational tasks
• Becoming familiar with teacher/program requirements and all instructional materials
• Supervising students during non-instructional and out-of-class activities
• Providing additional support and other duties as assigned
