Job summary

Indianapolis Public Schools is seeking a passionate Full Time Infant Teacher to nurture and educate young children in a supportive and dynamic environment. Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities for children, ( Must align with Curriculum provided)
  • Create a safe and nurturing learning environment
  • Supervise children during activities and ensure their safety
  • Conduct systematic observations and evaluations of each child's progress
  • Cultivate positive relationships with children and parents
  • Classroom management
  • Attend and participate in family nights, program activities, and staff meetings
  • Adhere to state guidelines and childcare regulations

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED ( required), CDA, Associates, or Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred)
  • Experience working in a licensed childcare center (at least one year preferred)
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire
  • Strong knowledge of child development principles and educational practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Dependability, adaptability, and teamwork skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to plan, lead, and participate in activities
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. for child safety and potential emergency situations
  • Ability to handle stressful situations professionally while multitasking
