Summary: The full-time Assistant Manager is a full-time hourly employee responsible for the operation and supervision of a theatre and its staff, acting as a representative of Regal in alignment with our mission and policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure regular and consistent attendance, including early opening and/or late closing shifts as needed.
  2. Uphold and enforce all theatre policies.
  3. Train, develop, coach, and supervise non-management staff.
  4. Perform all staff roles as required.
  5. Operate projection and audio-visual equipment, including hardware and software, with knowledge of all systems within the facility, including maintenance and programming.
  6. Maintain current alcohol certification and training where applicable.
  7. Monitor risk management aspects, including safety, loss prevention, emergency response, and accident reporting.
  8. Ensure guest satisfaction.
  9. Manage receipts, including counting, depositing, and reconciliation of cash, credit cards, and other payments.
  10. Adhere to dress code policies.
  11. Complete or be in the process of completing the management certification program.
  12. Review and understand the ROM.
  13. Handle HR responsibilities such as interviewing, hiring, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions with oversight.
  14. Control costs, manage inventory, and oversee procurement of supplies.
  15. Supervise theatre maintenance, including minor repairs and coordinating with qualified personnel for major issues.
  16. Manage marketing and promotions for film screenings and schedule movie showtimes.
  17. Read and understand training materials on topics like sexual harassment and discrimination.

Additional Duties: As assigned by the GM or senior management.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least three months supervisory experience or six months theatre experience with Cast Certification, or equivalent leadership potential approved by VP.
  • If selling alcohol, must be of legal age and complete required training and certification.

Skills:

  • Good public speaking and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform calculations accurately.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently under pressure.
  • Proficiency with PC platforms and office software.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and goal setting.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Direct supervision of staff, including training, scheduling, performance appraisal, and discipline under the guidance of the General Manager.

Physical Demands: Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and handling objects; occasional climbing, stooping, lifting up to 60 lbs.; visual requirements include various focus abilities.
