Job summary

This full-time, variable-shift position requires 1+ year of cooking experience and knowledge of HACCP, FIFO, and food safety practices. Clay County Food Handler permit or ServSafe certification within 30 days is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking in a hospital or institutional setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diet orders and standardized recipes.
• Ability to follow food production schedules and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe, sanitary work environment in accordance with policies.
• Operates and maintains food service equipment.
• Uses FIFO method to store, label and date items.
• Cooks menu items for patients, guests and Meals on Wheels per diet orders and recipes.
• Follows HACCP principles for time/temperature and records production data.
• Records and maintains accurate food production and waste records.
• Ensures quality and portion control of served items.
• Washes dishes and cleans the department; removes waste.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
