Job summary

Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago seeks a full-time Environmental Services Aide to scrub, strip, polish floors and maintain cleanliness throughout the facility. You will operate cleaning equipment and follow department procedures to ensure patient areas remain safe and sanitary.

The role requires good English communication, a high school diploma or equivalent, and 40 hours per week with 7am–3:30pm shifts and rotating weekends/holidays. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• Prefer 1-2 years of housekeeping experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Scrub, strip, polish and refinishes floors using appropriate equipment.
• Operates cleaning equipment (ringers, vacuums, floor machines, sweepers).
• Clean or sanitizes after spills and maintain safe, orderly work areas.
• Handle hazardous and medical waste per hospital procedures and training.
• Assist with furniture arrangement and discharge room cleans as needed.
