Job summary

Adventist Health St. Helena is seeking a Staff Chaplain for a full-time position with 8-hour day shifts, onsite at our Saint Helena, CA location.

Provides spiritual counseling and education to patients, families and interdisciplinary team members, supporting clergy and faith communities to enhance care. Maintains confidentiality and engages diverse patient backgrounds in line with hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Master's of Divinity degree or equivalent from an approved organization.
• Completion of two CPE units with on-track to four units by year one.
• ACPE/CPSP recognition for CPE programs.
• Seventh-day Adventist ecclesiastical endorsement and APC/ACI/CPSP process.

Responsibilities

• Provides pastoral care to patients, families and staff in diverse situations.
• Offers spiritual visitations, worship services, and bereavement support.
• Responds to urgent medical events and protects confidentiality of patient information.
• Collaborates with hospital staff to address spiritual needs of patients and families.
• Conducts religious services in the hospital chapel and aligns with organizational mission.
