Job summary

Zohorecruit is seeking a compassionate Hospice Music Therapist to provide professional music therapy to patients in accordance with company protocols. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor of Music Therapy, MT-BC certification, and experience in geriatric and end-of-life care.

The role involves planning and evaluating therapy sessions, educating patients and staff about music therapy, and actively engaging in sessions to comfort patients during the last stages of life.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Music Therapy
• MT-BC board certification
• State licensing where required
• At least six months of experience with geriatric health care
• At least six months of experience with end-of-life/terminal illness health care

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent professional music therapy in accordance with company protocols and accepted certification practices
• Effectively inform and educate our patients, staff, and facility partners about music therapy
• Establish therapy objectives as part of the patient assessment
• Plan, review, and assess therapy sessions to monitor effectiveness and to aid in the planning of subsequent sessions
• Take an active role in sessions by playing instruments, singing, and listening
• Encourage patients to take part in the session and support them by responding musically and improvising with music as a reaction to what the client is communicating to give comfort during the last stages of life
• Support the patient's creative development and facilitate positive changes in their behavior and well-being

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Music Therapy

MT-BC board certification

State music therapy licensing
